She tested positive for heartworm disease. Star has been in the shelter for a while and would greatly benefit from decompressing in a foster home! I have attached a photo of Star as well as her behavior notes and kennel card below. Please let us know if you can help Star! Expect her to be in danger soon. Thanks! 📝 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: Puppy 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑 was picked up as a stray on 3/26/2025 but there are no Intake Notes. 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑 is now on the euthanasia list for "LOS 15+ Days." Please adopt, foster or rescue 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑 . 📝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: 4/2/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: When walking a dog past her kennel in the AM, she was low growling. When walking a different dog past her kennel, she ran to the kennel door, barking at the dog. 4/4/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Per ACT observed ACT carrying Star out to runs as she would not walk. ACT tried to set her down to see if she walked in hallway but Star just crouched there trembling. Carried her the rest of the way to runs. When passing through row Star was lying on her bed, not moving. When I walked by with a dog she didn't move. 4/5/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: When I approached her kennel, Star was laying down in her Kuranda bed. She got up and walked over to me and I leashed her. While walking outside, Star had a loose wiggly body and a high wagging tail. When I crouched down, she came up and cuddled close to me and took treats gently from my hand. She walked back inside with a high wagging tail. Once back in her kennel, I walked other dogs past her kennel and she didn't pay them any attention. 4/6/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: Walk up to the kennel, Star greeted me at the front of the kennel door with a relax body, soft close mouth and a soft swaying tail. Place the leash on Star, she walk out of the kennel and as we started walking out to the hallway, Star started to walk on a loose leash. She maintained a relax body and soft wagging tail while walking to the dog run. 4/8/2025: BEHAVIOR NOTE: When I approached her kennel, Star greeted me with a loose wiggly body. She walked on a loose leash, taking treats gently from my hand as we walked. She waited for me patiently to return then walked back inside on a loose leash.
