ASSESSMENT
DOWNEY
A5682576
Postie was at the back of the kennel with a tense, trembling body. His eyes were wide, his mouth was closed, his ears were
back, and his tail was tucked. He moved farther away and began to bark defensively when the runner began talking to him.
He would not approach the front of the kennel, so the runner closed the divider door and walked to the inside of the building.
Postie was sitting in the middle of the kennel, barking defensively. The runner knelt in front of the kennel, and tried to coax
him forward, but he would not approach. The runner was able to gently toss the leash over his head, but he required some
coaxing and gentle pressure on the leash to exit the kennel. He required gentle pressure on the leash to walk, and froze
anytime he heard a loud noise. The runner was able to coax him to continue walking. He was easy to collar. In the catch
pen, his body was neutral, his eyes were neutral, his mouth was closed, and his tail was high with no wag. He entered the
yard, and exchanged tense greetings with the other dogs. He roamed the yard with a neutral body, open pant, and a high tail.
He did not engage in play with the other dogs, but was able to coexist in the yard. Postie is tolerant of the other dogs, has a
medium energy level, and does not have a playstyle at this time.

HANDLING
DOWNEY
A5682576
Postie was already in the yard when the handler decided to begin the handling assessment. He was moved to the side yard,
and given a few moments to decompress before the handler entered the yard. He allowed the handler to pet his whole body
with no issues, and remained easy to handle. When the assessment was over, he began to jump on the handler roughly, and
began mouthing at the handler?s arms with light to moderate pressure. The handler was able to correct him with ease, and he
quickly settled. He stayed next to the handler, and leaned against the handler?s legs as she continued to pet him.
