Charlie came to our shelter as a stray and has been slow to warm up to people. He has not tolerated handling and will need a patient home that understands his needs. He is underweight and has a limp that will need additional treatment. Charlie needs a quiet, experienced home where he can feel safe and build trust at his own pace.
Medical
3/3/25- Complaint of limping and underweight. Staff unable to get out of kennel. I observed in kennel curled up on bed/would not get up and approach. BCS = 2/9. Rxing canned food and gabapentin and traz.
3/11/25 - unable to handle for examination after 1 week of medication
Shelter Observation
3/3/25- he resource guards the bowls- begins to growl
3/8/25- Charlie is very timid, he doesn't mind me coming close to him when I'm cleaning but he shows his fear to the lead and reacts by snapping and flaring teeth aimed at the lead.
