Eval Comments: He was fearful of the runner as he stood in the back of the kennel with wide eyes, tucked tail and tense body. He started to
pace the rear wall looking for an exit as she coaxed him. He was avoiding eye contact and attempting to climb the walls to get away. The gate was opened, and he quickened his pacing. As she took a step into the kennel, he became overwhelmed and pancaked on the floor behind the gate. As the runner presented the loop leash, he jumped up and frantically attempted to climb up the comer of the kennel. The runner was able to place the leash over his head at this time and he dashed to back of the kennel and pancaked. As the runner exited the kennel and coaxed him, he dashed out to the end of leash, trying to get away from her. He pulled very hard on leash, attemptingto escape as he walked to the catch pen. He tried to climb on or around any object he came upon. Once in the pen he pressed his body against the far wall, avoiding eye contact and trying to appear invisible to her. As the runner took a step towards him, he frantically paced the back wall trying to create space. He sat down while facing her while stress panting. As the runner extended the collar towards him, he postured his body, exposed his teeth and then rapidly snapped at her hand. The handler stopped the runner and decided it was safest to retum him to the kennel due to his behavior. A handler had to step in and assist the runner with placing a safety leash on him as he was flailing and stressed out. He walked back to his kennel at the end of leash and without any further incident. Due to his handling sensitivity and behavior in the care center, as well as his history of attacking chickens, he is designated as rescue only and will require a known history of aggression disclosure fom.
