I have been at the shelter since Nov 02, 2024.
12/16 Pet received behavior assessment; Pet allowed to be leashed; Once outside, pet seemed to want affection from handler but would stiffen when pet, specifically around the neck; Pet seemed uncomfortable with the leash pressure tightening around his neck; Pet seems fearful and unsure and should be approached with caution; Pet may require some time to warm up to people, and may have some version of stranger danger; Pet was figure 8 upon returning to kennel; Pet is a safety concern for staff and should only be placed in a home with an experienced handler
volunteer comments:
Going on 2 months waiting for the right home. He had a chip and owners were contacted but they could care less and left him there where his life could be in danger 😢 Bruno is independent and reserved. He doesn't trust people right away so he needs some time and space before he comes to you for pettings. At first he didn't like the pressure of the leash around his neck but he?s getting used to it. He seems to want to play with other dogs and enjoys being outside in the pens when other dogs are on the other side of the fence. Unlike many Huskies he never howls and he's potty trained. He's 2 years old. Bruno needs a rescue or experienced adopter

RESCUE NEEDED ASAP 🚨🚨MIAMI FL - EXTREMELY URGENT HUSKY -This handsome boy is Bruno. He was found as a stray. The owner was contacted and he said he escaped but never went to get his dog and not answering any longer 😡 Bruno is really calm and reserved. He seems very dog friendly and he even tries playing with them through the fence. It seems like his previous experiences with leashing were negative and he gets scared and uncomfortable about it. He will need a rescue or experienced adopter who can help address this behavior.
On 1/10 he had an incident with a volunteer. He is now in extreme danger!!!! Bruno is independent and reserved. He doesn't trust people right away so he needs some time and space before he comes to you for pettings. At first he didn't like the pressure of the leash around his neck but he's getting used to it. He seems to want to play with other dogs and enjoys being outside in the pens when other dogs are on the other side of the fence. Unlike many Huskies he never howls and he's potty trained. He's 2 years old. Bruno needs a rescue or experienced adopter. Unfortunately, this breed does not do well at shelters.
