About beanie: Beanie ACCT-A-171455 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Beanie must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER, EXPERIENCED FOSTER, or RESCUE PARTNER by Friday, September 6th at 10 A.M. Should Beanie's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Due to being significantly overcapacity with animals and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging an animal. Beanie is a gentle soul who needs a special adopter with a lot of patience and understanding. Beanie came to ACCT on 8/12 after he was found as a stray. Being in the shelter has our friend Beanie tense and nervous, with wide, worried eyes. Despite his nervousness, he is tolerant of handling, and is opening up more and more with slow interaction. Beanie is curious about new people and is looking for a quiet, loving home where he can feel safe and gradually build trust. Behavior: Per Volunteer 9/1/24: Very patient and calm for leashing! Greeted me with a loose body and looking at me with her big beautiful eyes. She walks super nicely without any pulling! outside she didn't show much interest in treats but she has a URI so likely not feeling her best and doesn't have the best smell. She took pets from me, not overly affectionate but liked sitting by me. She was very loose with handling and very low energy. She seems interested in squeaky toys from what I saw! Great walking back inside and going back into her kennel! 8/14 per staff: minimal exam and vaccines do to fear dog cooperated well but was very fearful 8/14 per staff: Beanie is in a crate currently due to space. In his kennel Beanie was standing near the door with a tense body, wide semi hard eyes but was also avoidant. He remained standing at the front when the handler leashed him and flinched but allowed for leashing. No issues exiting or returning. Beanie was very tense in the room and had wide eyes. He seemed really scared in the room and stood wide eyed in the room with very worried eyes. He had no interest in interacting with us but would follow us around the room, but pause and walk away if we spoke to him at all. He was tolerant of all handling though while in the room with us, but remained very nervous and would flinch with sudden movements. He was curious of new handlers entering the room but remained very nervous and avoidant.
