About cookie: ANIMAL ID MAS-A-4938 SEX Female WEIGHT 57.4 lbs AGE 4Y/2M/3W LOCATION Moms, 157A INTAKE DATE 7/23/2024 ATTRIBUTES Heartworm Negative This pet is urgent for FAS (Fear, Anxiety, Stress) Urgent: at risk of euthanasia A volunteer who spent time with me said: On 8/8/24 Cookie met another dog friendly dog, Carrot (38543). She was very barrier reactive inside when I got her out of the kennel. She lunged and was biting at the dogs as we walked down. Once outside, she showed no reaction in the catch pen. She was allowed into the yard where she immediately did her business. She mostly kept to herself and tolerated Carrot's overeager greetings. She gave small, appropriate corrections when his energy was too much. Overall, she seemed to do well. However, when it was time to go inside it seems she reached her limit and there was a verbal altercation between the 2 dogs. It was mostly vocal and was easily broken up with correctors. No injuries. If Cookie goes to a home with other dogs, they must be tested together. She may do better with a calmer dog that also keeps to themselves. On 7/24/24, Cookie moved to Moms area, soon as she moved in I heard her constantly barking. I went to give her treats or peanut butter and she was just staring into space barking. So I proceeded to clean the other side and soon as I left the divider up she ran up to the kennel door looking into space again constantly barking. See past notes of when she was here in 2021: Cookie #MASA4938 went on a foster field trip over the weekend, and this is what her chaperone said about the time they spent together: "Cookie was just as sweet as her name! Her ears are unforgettable! She loved the car and settled in immediately. She was very well-mannered on her leash and knew the "sit command. She had the softest head I have ever felt, and she loved head scratches. Cookie was a little bit camera shy and was preoccupied with exploring the grass and nature at Shelby Farms. She enjoyed pets and rubs from all the people out walking and was very friendly! She did not eat any of the dog treats I brought for her but drank lots of water and tried some cheese! But then we went to Starbucks and she LOVED her pup cup! Cookie would be a great addition to any family and seemed very kid-friendly! Cookie was part of play group on 5/11/2. She was friendly, social, and playful. However, she could be a bully with her play and was also conflict driven when a fight broke out between other dogs. Cookie was brought out for playgroup on 5/13/21. She was very reactive walking past dogs in two different play yards, so she was put in a yard by herself. She continued to bark and attempted to fence fight with dogs that were entering the play yard, so she was taken inside. Cookie was part of play group on 5/18/21. She was friendly, social, and playful. Cookie was given some outside time on 6/25/21. Even when a dog was in the yard next to her, she sniffed them through the fence and went about herself. Cookie was part of playgroup on 7/1/21. She was friendly, social, curious, and tolerant. She enjoyed splashing and laying in the pools. Cookie was part of play group on 7/4/21. She was very conflict driven when a fight broke out in the catch pen and seemed to have a hard time calming down after that so she was moved to her own yard.
