𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 We were walking the ward looking for a white pittie, and Marbles tippy tapping feet and waggy tail drew us right in! He leashed and pulled hard as we ran outside. He can be very jumpy but it?s all excitement, and I?m going to cut him some slack since he?s been there for 4 weeks and is only 8 months old - still a puppy! I think his time in the shelter has him with a lot of pent up energy. We walked back inside and passed another dog on the way, who he barked an enthusiastic ?hello? to. In the photo room he tolerated all my kisses SO well and as you can tell, he got a ton. When he wouldn?t stop wiggling, I picked him up and cradled him in my lap like a baby. I started rubbing his head and y?all he melted like butter, falling asleep in my arms. It was SO cute and the funniest 180. Overall he?s a typical teenager who needs some help with his manners, but is very sweet and has so much potential! Another volunteer met him before us and he was a lot more calm for her, even sitting on command. He?s on the list for length of stay and being barrier reactive, but I think it?s the environment. He met a female dog outside with a wagging tail and 0 issues. He could?ve cared less! His sister was adopted, so I hope he makes it out too. ☹️
𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: 2/4 Approaching his kennel, Marble is at the front of the kennel with tippy taps, a wagging tail, and very wiggly body. He begins to jump on kennel but allows redirection. I leash and he walks more on the tight side and tends to redirect his attention towards the other dogs but is able to be redirected. After his kennel is cleaned when brought back, he had to remain covered during cleaning because he would begin to forward bark at other dogs when passing by or begin to jump on his kennel door when passing by. 2/1 Approaching kennel, Marble came to me with a wagging tail, low ears, and slight squinty eyes as I babytalked to him. Dog took treats readily and once leashed, Marble kept jumping on me until I redirected with treats on the way to the runs. I noticed him starts to get vocal in the runs as well as in kennel towards other passing so I tossed over treats as I passed by and covered his kennel door. 1/18 Approaching kennel, Marble comes to me with a wagging tail, squinty eyes, and floppy ears as I offer treats to leash him. Dog walked gently on a loose leash as he followed the treats being offered on the way to and from the runs.
