This handsome 4 year old came to ACCT on 7/19 after his owner was evicted and Sammy was left behind. Sammy was understandably nervous when coming into the shelter, but since then has blossomed into a confident and friendly pup! Sammy Jones is an active and easy going dog who enjoys being pet, going on walks, and getting lots of snacks. He does know "Sit and is eager to learn more tricks in his future home. Due to Sammy Jones being nervous at first in new situations he would do best in a home with older children who can give him time to warm up and respect his boundaries. Sammy has also been selective when meeting other dogs in shelter. He likely would do best in a single dog home, but with a slow supervised introduction it is possible he could live with another dog. 7/27 per staff: Needs a calmer pup who is also tolerant 7/25 per volunteer: Sammy is a handsome young man who was very easy to handle. He loved his walk and enjoyed his time in the run with the hose. Sammy is really sweet and liked to say hello to the other dogs who walked past the run. He would love to have a friend to play with. Sammy is a very happy boy! 7/24 per volunteer: I met Sammy Jones for the first time on 7/22. He greeted me at the front of his kennel and was easy to get out and through the rows of kennels. He is a handsome fella with gorgeous shiny black fur. He was easy to walk, only pulled slightly when he saw a passing dog but was non reactive and easily redirected. He showed me he does know sit but would prefer to not have to work for his snacks. He enjoyed all over petting and was overall pretty mellow. I took him into the big run after our walk and he wasn't interested in toys...He was more interested in snacking on the tall grass. After some time in the run we returned to the kennel with no issues. 7/24 per staff: Sammy is shy but friendly in his kennel, and approaches you with loose body.
