Volunteer Notes King was growling at me when I stopped to greet him but he gave me zero issues leaving him up, even without the ploy of treats. I noticed his eyes were extremely wide, his ears pulled back and he wa panting heavily but it was exceedingly - and i mean deafeningly - loud in his ward today so i gave him lots of grace here. He walks well enough when you consider he is morbidly obese and looks like he has to hurt just moving. We moseyed our way outside to a run and he stopped nearby Pixie and Scooby without really greeting the other. Once I had him in a run, however, he seemed a bit more willing to sniff at Pixie although he never showed much interest in her. We didn?t stay out very long because it began to get very warm and I could see him turning pink around his eyes and gums. He showed zero interest in any of the treats I had and went easily back to his kennel.
Shelter Notes 4/25 when approaching kennel animal started growling when trying to leash animal turn toward the back trying to avoid contact with the leash animal has tense body posture with a tuck tail, I was still able to leash once leash animal has a slow pace when leaving and entering kennel animal show no interest in any of the treats.
