Nacho is a 2 year old male who came to ACCT as a stray on the 9th. His finder had great things to say about him including that he was amazing on leash, friendly, playful, and did well around his other pets. Nacho was friendly on intake with staff as well. Since being here Nacho has been stressed out in a kennel and been demonstrating overstimulation and frustration with some escalation. Nacho is a young and high energy dog who lacks boundaries at times but means well! While staff were outside with Nacho on the 10th Nacho was rambunctious and had many puppy mannerisms. He was playful and goofy outside with his handler- soliciting attention and running around the play yard. He would become overstimulated quickly though jumping at his handler and firmly mouthing them. He was not very treat motivated so redirecting him could be difficult at times. On leash Nacho would become frustrated easily, especially around other dogs. Nacho did well for his fence meet with another pup, but during a walk along Nacho was very vocal, excited, and could be overwhelming for the other dog. When his handler tried to redirect his attention or pull him away with the leash he would begin to leash bite and jump in the air trying to nip at his handler. Nacho urgently needs to leave with an experienced handler or rescue partner who can provide Nacho with training and teach him boundaries so that he can bloom into the lovely well behaved dog we know he can be.
