Mordecai?s kennel was coviered and he was standing at the front. He jumped up to stand against the door as I peaked over and was really eager to get leashed up for a walk. I noticed immediately the open wound on his neck: it?s pretty decently sized - maybe the size of a small lemon - and red. The area has been shaved and it seems in the process of healing but it is painful to look at, so I can only imagine it?s more so for him. Given his wound, I was pleasantly surprised Mordecai didn?t shy from the leash and he actually pulled a bit as we made our way outside. He doesn?t seem to know sit and it was a bit challenging to get his attention for photos, but he has a sweet personality and very expressive face.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 black and white dog roaming loose
3/30 Approaching kennel, dog is panting with a wagging tail and dilated pupils. I also noticed that Mordecai kept pushing his head through the opening of the kennel door to get out faster and once leashed, he rushed out. Dog maintained a tight leash ignoring treats and also jumps lot when leashing again as well as when placing back in kennel. I redirected using treats and quickly removed leash. Will cover kennel door and place extra enrichment.
3/27 Dog has big wound with staples around neck. He wasn't going for my treats and trying to exit out of the kennel. When I would try to go in so I could harness him he kept going to the front. Treats and the tennis ball was not distracting him. So I made a big loop and had him walk through it. I managed to get his shoulder and under of his legs. He walked on a semi-tight leash. He was panting, running around in the yard sniffing and potting. When it was time to go into the kennel he walked in by himself
