About princess: Princess ACCT-A-118210 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space for incoming dogs due to management and board of director's decision to reduce large dog kennel capacity from 112 kennels to 69 despite it being the busiest time of the year and length of stay. Princess must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER, EXPERIENCED FOSTER, or RESCUE PARTNER by Tuesday, August 23rd at 10 a.m. Should Princess's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Princess is a 2-year-old mixed breed dog who weighs 47 pounds. She was brought to the shelter when her owner couldn't keep her. They reported that she is hyper, has a lot of energy, loves attention, and loves to play. They also said that she is very smart, knowing sit, give me paw, up, and lay down. The owner said that she loved their kids, but she is fearful at the shelter, so we are looking for a home without kids at this time. She is very playful and goofy once she warms up. Squeaky toys helped a lot! She chased them and gave tail wags when pouncing on them but did not take possession. Princess was initially fearful when coming into the shelter. But since then has warmed up a lot! Per Staff 8/3: I took Princess out for a walk for activity time and we had a blast, she was high energy and excited for her walk just as any dog would be. We went around for a bit while she took in all her smells and observed all the things around her. She would often come back to me soliciting attention and even attempted to climb into my lap once we sat in the shade, She was super sweet and loved affection, giving all of the kisses you could ever want. Per Staff 8/14: Took Princess for a nice walk for Activity Time. She can be a little jumpy on walks, but for the most part she has great leash manners. She gets bursts of energy where she will just pull where she wants or will jump in a direction, so you want to have a good grip on the leash. Princess will keep you on your toes. https://youtube.com/shorts/IMSNYbw83F0?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/CFK7jeHOW7Q?feature=share Confirmed placement is considered confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details.
