About dumpling: A5016629 Dumpling is a soulful 5-year-old black female Dachshund and Patterdale Terrier mix who owners surrendered her and her sister/mother to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on December 4th because, they claimed, she escaped from their yard. Weighing 33 lbs, Dumpling is very fearful at the shelter and is very dependent on her sister/mom for comfort. She does not seem to have been treated well in her previous life and doesn't expect good things to happen to her. However, she is gentle and cooperative and may, with some special patience and kindness, blossom. With her low-rider body and wide eyes, she's as cute as can be. Given how bonded and attached she is to her sister/mom, we would prefer they leave the shelter together, but we realize that isn't always possible or practical. Either way, we think Dumpling will relax and warm up to kind people once she's out of the awful shelter environment and being treated with gentleness and understanding as a valued indoor pet and companion, with or without her sister/mom and/or other canines.
