She is now on the euthanasia list for "Medical (Heartworms) and behavior (vocal in kennel, growling at dog on the other side of the divider, snarling, lunging, hitting the divider)." The shelter will help with heartworm medication if she is adopted through them. Was able to redirect her momentarily with treats. With people held wagging tail and very affectionate. When pulling enrichment, could hear Nia growling on other side of divider and when I stepped into the kennel of the other dog and picked up toy by the bed Nia began snarling, lunging and hitting the divider on the other side. When I spoke to her through the divider she stopped, but could hear her beginning to growl again once I stepped out of kennel. Other dog was not engaging and staying away from the divider 3/29/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTES: Nia Long was vocal a handful of times throughout the day, towards the neighboring dog through the divider. She walked with a semi-loose leash, wiggly body, tail wagging, throwing front paws up, very excited. 3/30/2025 BEHAVIOR NOTES: Nia Long vocalized toward the neighboring dog through the divider.
