About phoebe: My name is PHOEBE and I'm approximately 2 years old female germ shepherd. I have been at the Palmdale Animal Care Center since February 2, 2025. Behavior: 2 fearful tense Overall body posture: crouched, stiff tense Ears: Neutral Eyes: Avoids contact Mouth: Lips long and soft Vocalizing: Quiet Fear-Anxiety-Stress level observed at intake: (3) Moderate FAS She was in her kennel with soft eyes and a low tail in the kennel. The runner opened the gate, and she took a few steps back. She was head shy, lowering her head as the runner tried placing it over her head. Once it was on, she required coaxing to exit. She walked with no pull-on leash but created space from the runner. She approached the play yard fence wary of the other dogs with a low head and a low tail. She sought out the runner to solicit affection, allowing him to clasp the collar around her neck easily. She was walked in on a long, loose leash. She was tense with her greetings, a stiff body and hackles raised. She roamed the yard for a few minutes and started to relax. A male shepherd approached and tried mounting her, she corrected him with appropriate corrections by spinning around, with a growl and showing her teeth. She spent a few minutes near a handler, using him as a barrier from the other dogs. A female shepherd playfully ran up to her, she gave a lip curl, and the shepherd walked away. She was considerably more tense when the others lingered near her face. She spent the rest of her time calmly roaming the yard, keeping to herself. She did not display any play style while in the yard. She needs confidence building and further socialization. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REQ), MEDIUM ENERGY
