About oliver: OLIVER is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. He needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 02/08/2024 or he WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

OLIVER is a handsome, 4 year old, neutered Belgian Malinois that came into the Orange County shelter on 01/18/2024 after he was caught at the Petco on Tustin/17th in Santa Ana. Oliver bit a couple of people while running loose in the parking lot and while being held by a Good Samaritan that was waiting for Animal Control to show up. One of the 'bites' is described as a scratch from the dog's teeth.

OLIVER was impounded using a ketch pole that completely freaked him out to the point that he alligator rolled, defecated and released his anal glands. Can you imagine the state of fear OLIVER must have been in at that time? OLIVER'S shelter intake notes also say that while on a ketch pole he 'submissively rolled on his back' for belly rubs.

In his kennel, OLIVER has been calm, but is also showing his teeth and lunging at staff. He allegedly acts friendly but then lunges and snaps.

OLIVER has completed his 10 day, state mandated quarantine. His owner was reportedly going to redeem him, but apparently they have changed their mind. Now, OLIVER will be euthanized unless a rescue steps in to save him.
