Moose was found as an injured stray in the community then brought to the shelter. While visiting him for pictures, he was curious and playful. Moose is currently in our injured room for ongoing checks and treatment. Due to injury, we are needing to find Moose placement if he is not reclaimed.
Medical
02/09/24 08:21 Pt is favoring left front leg, DBW noticed with swelling.
Pt is also very stiff on back legs but does rise and ambulates well, medical will recheck to see if antibiotics are warranted.
02/10/24 12:35 no effusion. Will continue pain meds and continue to monitor. Swelling appears to be improving.
2/12 EXAM:
ATT: friendly, interactive, aroused
CARD: no murmurs auscultated
RESP: bilaterally clear
INT: front left leg- swollen, wound on medial aspect of leg has large surface area abraded, and wound opened with mild amount of purulent discharge coming out.
M/S: BCS 5/9, weak back
PROBLEM:
- front left: cellulitis and trauma
- HW positive
PLAN:
-Add another skin focused antibiotic to meds. Surgery to treat wound in GA on Wednesday.
-RX clavamox 375 mg tab, 1 tab BID for 14 days
