𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: Calvin has this calm about him that makes you feel so zen, and he eyes just mesmerize you. He just has a way about him that makes you just want to relax. He has such a calming demeanor about him. From the minute I approached his kennel, he slowly stood up and allowed me to leash him. When walking out of the kennel, he was slow and stayed right next to me. As we were approaching the door of the kennel room two young girls about 5 and 10 years old asked if they could pet him. He just stood there so nicely as the 2 girls pet him. You could tell he wanted to blend right in with the family, sadly, they weren't looking to adopt anyone today. Once outside he just walked around calmly and took treats so gently. He has incredibly soft and silky fur. He doesn't know any commands, but I'm sure he could learn fairly quickly if needed. Being that he is so calm, he doesn't need to know any commands as he will just kind of follow along with what you do. The only thing I noticed about him, is that he didn't like being in the particular run we were in and was trying to figure out how to get out, so he could be an escape artist if he doesn't like he surroundings. When we were in the other runs on the other side of the building, he wasn't trying to do that. I really love this guy and hope he makes his way out of barc to a family that he can call forever.
𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲: cold dog in freezing temperatures
𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: 2/9 Very wiggly, play bowing around me on leash but maintained semi-loose leash despite not walking next to me. Once in run, immediately walked off to relieve himself and potty. While walking other dogs past his run he was quiet, stood by gate and sniffed other dogs passing by with tail out and loose wagging. Once I approached to bring him back inside he was standing on back legs and pawing at gate, able to redirect him down to all fours with treats and leash. Wiggly and zig-zagging around me with semi-loose leash, tight leash leading the way back towards NB; ate treats in trail but picked up treats and continued walking with loose leash. 1/29 Pancaked in kennel with wagging tail and slight squinting eyes, slowly walks to front of kennel and as I open kennel door she stands up wiggly body and fast wagging tail, easy to leash and very treat motivated I toss treats for treat trail and will take treats from hand with a soft mouth when offered. in runs she will stand by gate and sniff other dogs with a wagging tail, or wait for neighboring dog to acknowledge him for sniffs. quiet in kennel and will eat treats during four on the floor. 2/10: Noticed that Snow had previously dragged in her kennel cover and would maintain an open mouth pant, erect ears, and slightly stiff body as Handler tossed treats to leash her. Once placed back I placed a hard-visual barrier and extra enrichment. 1/27 Approaching kennel Zorro is crouching down, stiff body, whaled eyes, avoiding eye contact, pancake to the ground slowly walking towards me with a wagging tail as I opened kennel door, once leashed his body posture became relaxed and wiggly walked out to outside runs on a semi loose leash ignoring treats being tossed. once brining back from outside runs he walked out with a wigging tail, wiggly body and smiling open mouth, taking treats from ground. walked into kennel and has been laying in bed throughout day. 1/17 Approaching kennel dog is laying down, dog took chicken off floor but did not walk for treats. Had to carry to next kennel
