Johnny has the most stunning eyes! He?s wearing a little Reebok harness thing which made me sad for him and what he?s lost. He was sleeping quietly in his kennel when I approached but then backed up when I opened the kennel door. He wasn?t interested in my treats and instead just gave me a hard stare the entire time we interacted, as if he wasn?t sure what to make of me. He was a handsome little statue in the back of his kennel. I didn?t attempt to leash him because of this, however he didn?t growl, lunge, or show any aggression. I would say though that he likely needs an experienced handler that knows dog body language to help him decompress and relearn to trust humans.
: Approaching kennel, Johnny had very tense body language and whale eyes. He cowared into the corner as I entered the kennel. I began to baby talk him as I went to leash him and he air snapped at the leash. I went to place then leash around him again and once it was on I began to encourage him to walk out the kennel. He stayed frozen in one place and wasn't interested in treats. I was ablet to guide him out the kennel and once he was out he began to thrash. I stopped to let him calm down then stood behind him as he slowly walked. He walked then would pause consistently on the way to the next kennel. Once at the next kennel he walked into it quickly. I unleashed him and closed the kennel door.
2/9: body became stiff when placing leash. had to leash muzzle and carry
