Vol 1 - When I approached Effie's kennel she curled up in the back. I opened her kennel and tried ti give her and trip and she growled. I wasn't sure if it was a leave me alone or I'm scared, so I proceeded to try leashing her and she not only growled, but tried snapping at me. I decided to leave her alone so as not to stress her any more than she already was. ACT's said she doesn't allow them to leash her, so she hasn't been moved.
Vol 2 - Effie was scared but did not growl or show teeth. She warmed up eventually approaching for sniffs, but will need an experienced foster to help her decompress.
🔸𝗣𝗹𝗲𝐚 Momma and the her puppies were surrendered to the shelter a few days ago. Mom is having a hard time adjusting to the shelter. She is air snapping at the leash, she was used to roaming free and I?m sure she?s never had a leash or collar on before. She has older pups so they have been separated from mom. Please let us know if you can help them!

02/02/24 14:19 Lying with head down between front paws on blanket, wrinkled brow, alert ears, tense, flinching body when I opened kennel door and tried lassoing. She was at back of kennel so I put leash down, and when she scurried forward and tried to get out of kennel, I leashed. She walked with tight leash away from me, tail tucked and side eyeing me as we walked out. Leash walked her on grassy area until she pottied and walked her back inside to kennel. As she passed me into kennel I pulled leash off and shut door before she turned around trying to follow me back out.
2/1 Approaching kennel, dog is curled up with her puppies. She looks as me as I open the kennel and enter to leash her. She slowly stands and walks out. She walked loosely as I took her outside. She mostly walked and looked around. When walking her back inside she continued to walk loosely and was placed in the next open kennel by herself.
2/1 Tensed body, whale eyes, moving from side to side as i try to leash her. Onced i placed the leash she walked out with a crouched body, tail tucked in. I place her in a small run, to clean her kennel since she painted all over her kennel. When trying to bring her back inside she ran from side to side then stayed in a corner, low growl, tensed body, whale eyes. Another Act assisted in removing dog from kennel, dog was air snapping at the rope, foward barking. whale eyes, lip licking. Once we lassoed her she walked out with acrouched body, whale eyes, lip licking. ran into her new kennel
