About elton paw: Elton Paw ACCT-A-146865 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to medical concerns. Elton Paw must have confirmed placement with an RESCUE PARTNER or ADOPTER by Saturday, September 16th at 10 A.M. Should Elton Paw's medical or behavioral status change, their urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and cats and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Meet Elton Paw! This sweet senior came to us as a stray on 09/7. His finder described him as friendly. This pup is assessed to be approximately 7 years old and staff has described him as calm and very tolerant. Medically when Elton Paw came to us on 09/7 he was observed to have several bumps all over his body, cloudy eyes and walking difficulties. On 09/8 and 09/9 Elton Paw was reassessed due to his notes during his first exam. Staff noted that Elton had dental disease, suspected arthritis. Staff also stated "the patient is a senior with a mild anemia of chronic disease and mild elevations. Since being in our care, Elton Paw has received treatment for his symptoms however, we believe he will do best in a home where he can be cared for and monitored on an individual basis. Elton Paw has also had many positive dog interactions since being in our care so, if you are adding this pup to your pack we would recommend a slow introduction. Overall this senior is looking for a place to settle down and finally relax where he can feel safe. If you have room for this sweet gentleman in your home, please come meet him at ACCT Philly today! Staff noted on 09/8: "Elton Paw was lying down in the front of his kennel and looked up at me with soft eyes. I easily leaned over and leashed him as he wagged his tail. He slowly got up, and the poor thing did stumble right out of the kennel but he was not bothered at all! Kept moving along like nothing happened. On the way back in I did lift him, he just patiently waited for me to at the front. I took Elton Paw outside and he went straight to using the bathroom. We went in a play yard and he was happy to just roam around doing his own thing, sniffing around. He would come over occasionally and get some pets, but remained pretty neutral and didn't actively solicit attention. He was tolerant of all over handling, and would give a mid level wag, then move onto new places. He does absolutely love treats and will always come for one. Mostly, Elton Paw is content exploring on his own and seems like an independent boy!
