About sage: Sage ACCT-A-145762 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. Sage must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER or RESCUE PARTNER by Wednesday, September 6th by 10:00 am. Should Sage's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Due to being significantly overcapacity with dogs and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging a dog. Meet Sage. This beautiful 5 year old husky came to ACCT as an owner surrender on 8/24. She was surrendered due to medical concerns. Her owners said that she was "not eating properly for 6 weeks, had weight loss, not drinking as much water, vomiting, fur is falling off in patches, and still has energy but less than before. Upon medical examination no abnormalities were found to explain her weight loss or medical changes. Her bloodwork came back normal as well and since being in our care Sage has been active and eating her food. Sage has been great behaviorally while here. She is a rockstar in play groups and loves to meet other doggy friends. Sage has also been social and playful with staff and volunteers as well. Typical to her breed Sage can be a master of escaping and recently has been very ambitious trying to escape her kennel. Lately Sage has been more stressed with shelter life and can now jump out of her kennel. Sage was moved to a different kennel that she cannot jump out of, but remains stressed and makes attempts to claw or jump out. Sage would benefit from urgent placement with an adopter or rescue who can give her time to decompress from shelter stress, gain weight, and can followup on her medical concerns should issues arise. 8/30 per staff: Sage did great today in playgroup with Jazz and Hartly. She is very playful and well mannered with other pups. 8/27 per staff: I took a few minutes to feed Sage some treats to get her to warm up. A volunteer came in to get promo for her, and Sage was very gentle and affectionate with her. She came and approached me with a mid level wagging tail. She allowed all over handling and when I stopped petting her, she put her front legs on my lap and gave me some kisses. Everytime I paused she would nudge my hands with her snout. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent.
