Shelter Notes Plea: Behavior (Lunging at staff, raised hackles, red eyes, showing teeth, barking at customers, air snapping, unable to remove leash) Intake: 1 abandoned dog with gold color tied to a park bench in the big dog side of the park
4/27 Saw dog forward barking at me a lot when cleaning as well as when I spot cleaned, presenting raised hackles and a pilo-erect tail. Dayland pants also and paces with pulled back corner of mouth and a high tail inside of kennel. Covered kennel door due to him also vocalizing at customers and placed extra enrichment.
4/29 in the AM while doing inventory, i passed his kennel, and he was forward barking at me, and lunging at kennel. But during cleaning time, when i had to take him out, he was quiet and he let me leash him. he walked on a tight leash, i left him, i left him in the nursery cage so he could potty, with the leash still on him as i didnt trust him. coming back for him, i distracted him with treats and grabbed the leash that was still on him, and headed it back to his kennel, he walked on a semi tight leash this time. he went into kennel by me luring him with treats, was able to take leash off of him this time. throughout interaction he had a neutral body with a high standing tail, and erect ears.
