About diamond: Meet Diamond! This sweet girl is ready to find her new bet friend! Diamond has been at the shelter for over a month with her 7 adorable puppies, but she is ready to be an empty nester. While in the yard, Diamond leisurely pranced around and would regularly come check in with you and receive pets. She loves spending time with people and enjoys their company. Diamond has a lower energy level while out in the yard. Reports suggest that Diamond is doing very poorly in the kennel, and we want to find her a loving home where she can feel safe and happy. She is a total sweetheart outside the kennel though! If you're looking for a furry companion, Diamond could be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet her and fall in love today! She is available to meet at MAS any day of the week between 12 and 4 pm. You can also send us an adoption inquiry by clicking "Apply for Adoption." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On 3/18/23 Diamond attended playgroup. Her meeting at the gate was appropriate. Entering the yard she ignored all the dogs and started inspecting the yard. She was a bit curious of the dogs and would greet them briefly. She gave appropriate corrections each time a dog would get close to her face. She was in a altercation ( she over corrected a dog, and he didn't take it) we did correct them and they were able to stay in the yard. She did prefer people more than dogs. On 3/25/23 Diamond attended playgroup. She was friendly, social, but not so playful. She mostly stayed to herself or close to the handlers. She has a gentle and dainty playstyle. She is a sweet heart and lovesss people. Diamond attended playgroup on 04/11/23. She has a very gentle/ dainty playstyle. She didn't really interact in play and chose to stay near her handlers or spending her time exploring the yard. She was friendly and social when it came to other dogs coming up to her. This pet has been marked as at-risk, meaning he or she has behavioral concerns that need to be addressed outside of the shelter as soon as possible. Diamond has been marked at-risk due to moderate FAS. Pets marked at-risk could be considered for euthanasia (put to sleep). Interested adopters, please email mas@memphistn.gov. Interested rescue organizations, please email mas.rescue@memphistn.gov immediately for next steps. Diamond went to playgroup on 4/13/23. She was friendly social. She enjoyed herself just exploring the yard. She was tolerant and gave good corrections when needed. She loved checking on the handlers. Diamond attended playgroup on 4-15-23. She is friendly social with a gentle dainty playstyle. She loves people and gives appropriate corrections when needed. Today she was showing dominant behavior towards a smaller submissive female. She mostly stayed to herself. Occasionally she engaged play but shortly returned back to sunbathing. Diamond went to playgroup on 4/21/23. She was friendly social and played rough and rowdy. She sometimes got dominant when dogs played around her but she accepted handler correction and started playing appropriately again. Diamond was in playgroup on 04/22/2023. She was friendly and social but was not interested in playing. She was tolerant of dogs walking up and greeting her. At one point during her time outside, children and other adults joined the play yard. She did not mind the additional adults but she lunged at a child without being provoked. She allowed an adult to pet her but once the child walked near her, she lunged at him a second time. The child was not harmed but it made me aware that Diamond does not care for children. She was placed back inside her kennel. +Heartworm Positive+
