𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: I loved this little girl! She was a bit timid when I first met her and we didn?t have time for a slow intro since an ACT needed to get into her kennel to clean up, so I leashed her up and we made our way outside nearly as soon as I said hello. She is a bit unsure of the leash, although I really think it?s more she?s scared of the evaluation building (rightfully so). Outside, Rena greeted Drako and Jacob politely but very quickly, mostly choosing to stick to herself in the runs. She knows sit and looooved playing dress up for treats! She?s very tiny - a bit skinny, yes but also just size-wise. It makes me so sad that her Human passed away and poor Rena has found herself in this situation at BARC.
𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 Dog's owner was homeless and was killed. Dog did lunge at me while on chain.
4/5 When I approached the kennel the dog low growled, charged the kennel with whale eyes and hackles raised. I was able to baby talk her and she hunched down giving me a fast low wag. I was able to leash her and take her to get her photo. When the leash tightened while tied to the wall she started to alligator roll and vocalize. I took her off the wall and attempted to work her up. She would vocalize and roll and air snap at the leash every time I went to muzzle her. She has a short snout, so she was able to paw the leash off every time. I was able to leash her and restrain her while another tech injected, but she would always start rolling, vocalizing and snapping towards my face. Day one attempt leaving on afterhours.
