I came into the shelter as a owner surrender - aco on 2/5/2023, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive to other animals.
Little Girl is in need of emergency placement due to behavioral concerns. Little Girl was surrendered to the Care Center due to a bite incident in the home towards the resident cat. Since her intake, Little Girl has warmed up to familiar staff and caretakers but has begun to deteriorate due to her length of stay. She is leash biting to the point where it is difficult for her to be removed from her kennel safely for walks. Little Girl has also begun to bite on the ceiling of her kennel out of her high level of anxiety despite best efforts to keep her comfortable. Medically, Little Girl is apparently healthy.

Recommend EPL for medical reasons. Little Girl was diagnosed with pneumonia and is on injectable antibiotics. She has a persistent cough and is also on a cough suppressant. She needs to be hospitalized for further care. Behaviorally, Little Girl was surrendered for attacking a cat. In the care center, she was observed to be reactive toward other dogs and fearful of new people. She would do best in a home with no other animals and someone who understands decompression.
